Terry Gross continued her long running and public penis envy on Tuesday by devoting the show to yet another man. Fresh Air? Not if you take a whiff.
I was talking to C.I. this morning -- she was doing her morning run and, hello, if I were up and running -- Well I wouldn't be. But if I were, I certainly wouldn't have the breath to also talk on the phone. But we were talking about WikiLeaks and one thing that's being missed. Nicole Colson misses it at Socialist Worker (that was one of the articles we were talking about) but doesn't miss it by lying (she seems to honestly miss it -- Jim's already tabled this for a piece at Third so I can't talk about what she misses, read it and you may see for yourself):
TORTURE, BRUTALITY and civilian deaths. That is the legacy of the U.S. war on Iraq, according to nearly 400,000 secret U.S. military field reports recently released by muckracking Web site WikiLeaks.
But once again, U.S. political leaders and establishment media outlets are trying to shoot the messenger. Not only have the media tried to spin the reports to make the U.S. look better, but politicians are denouncing WikiLeaks and its founder Julian Assange for publishing the material. She wrote about it, so good for her. But part of the reason she misses the point is because she quote GlennGlenn who I'm honestly surprised is able to wipe because he doesn't appear the type able to find his own ass. A lot of "conspiracy theories" are being thrown around but, as usual, they miss the real reason for the attacks and the silence. Typical. But Nicole tries so give her a read.
This is C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
