Meanwhile Nick Pearson of Ninemsn is an idiot. He writes that disgraced media whore Gina Chon "has said she was truly sorry for her actions."
No, she hasn't your moron. Read your own stupid article, idiot.
"People were hurt along the way and for that, I am truly sorry," she wrote.
"I made stupid mistakes four years ago in Iraq while working for the Wall Street Journal and for that, I’m also sorry.
"I had to leave my job at a news organization I love and for that, I am heartbroken."
She says "she's truly storry" that people got hurt. But she's "heartbroken" that she lost her job.
Never once does she apologize for (or admit she was wrong for) sleeping with a US official in Iraq when she was supposed to be reporting. We trust a Brian Williams because we don't believe that when the cameras stop rolling, he's cuddling up with Barack Obama, Olympia Snow or some other government official. We believe he's impartial and reporting what is happening in a fair manner.
So that we can believe and trust journalism, there is a code of ethics. It is forbidden for you to sleep with your source. Gina Chon didn't tell her employers or they would have reassigned her.
When they finally found out, last week, they reviewed what happened and told her she could announce she was resigning or they could fire her. She chose to announce her resignation.
In her blathering and endless e-mail, she never takes accountability for her actions, she never admits she was wrong to sleep with a source, she never apologizes for disgracing her profession.
She's a disgrace.
This is C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
