Tuesday on Talk of the Nation (NPR), the guests were Ron Elving, Ed Whelan, Akhil Reed Amar, Paul Glastris, Peter Robinson, Stanley Fish and Robert Malley.
This public radio program featured 7 guests and not one was a woman.
Someone asked me what my hope was with this or the pieces I've written (and hopefully will continue to write) with Ava and C.I.?
My hope is that women will get outraged. We're trained to get outraged at the right. And to consider the left our friend. I was not a Hillary supporter. I'm a Green and have supported Ralph Nader in 2000, 2004 and 2008. But I was digusted with the sexist attacks on Hillary. I was especially bothered that they began appearing at Ralph Nader's site in the comments while he was running for president.
It was disgusting.
Women need to grasp that the left gives lip service, but they clearly are ready to stab us in the back when it works for them.
So where does that leave us? Me it still leaves on the left. But it leads me to study and figure out who I can trust and who I can't.
And if enough women start realizing what's going on, we may be able to force some changes in representation.
This is C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
