Today on the first hour of The Diane Rehm Show (NPR), the guests were David Lampton, Satu Limaye and Graham Fletcher. The second hour guest was Ha Jin.
An e-mail asked me if I could pick the best hour of the program this year?
That's obviously a personal opinion question so feel free to disagree with me but I would go with Diane's interview with Diane Keaton (here). Both Diane's were funny and the conversation flowed without ever once feeling forced. (I'm not a huge fan of Diane Rehm but that's not a slap at her. A lot of guests show, my opinion, a surprising amount of reluctance -- as though Diane forced them to do the show.) Diane Keaton either truly enjoyed the conversation or had the good manners to pretend to and I felt Diane Rehm made some of her most insightful comments and questions in that broadcast.
Again, that's a personal question and you can disagree -- even strongly -- with me and my feelings won't be hurt.
