The first hour of today's Diane Rehm Show (NPR) featured Gardiner Harris, Sandra Kweder, Christopher Lawlor and Heather Bresch . The second hour was Jeffrey Rosen, Michael Quinn and Scott Fredericksen.
Condi Rice was on CBS today. That link is video and text, by the way. She feels Herman Cain is playing the race card. Cain is running for the Republican presidential nomination. Since Sunday, he's been accused (by the press) of sexually harassing women. There are supposed to be three now. I'll leave that issue to others. But Condi said he was playing the race card, said the other side had as well. I could agree with both of those statements.
But I also would want her to address when race can be raised?
In other words, if most people said what she said, I would offer some general support. But I haven't heard Condi address Black issues. I'm sure she has. If she hasn't that would be very embarrassing for her. But I haven't heard her so I'm honestly leery of that statement.
This is C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
