Now for a topic that really matters, NBC's Whitney!
On the latest episode (aired Wednesday), Whitney needed to stop photography (or just photograph crime scenes) because the business was gone. So she ended up working for Roxanne as her assistant at the magazine. I'm not sure how that's going to go.
In terms of the show, I really don't like Kathy Griffin. Hopefully, her one and only episode just aired. Hopefully next week, we'll learn she quit the magazine. The guy playing her boss looks promising though.
In terms of the story?
I really don't like Whitney working for Roxanne.
It just seems like rank's being pulled on friendship. And when they had an argument and Roxanne showed up at Whitneys's apartment, she told Whitney to be quiet (they were both trying to apologize) that she was her boss. That sort of make me uncomfortable.
What really makes me uncomfortable is that Roxanne didn't stand up for Whitney.
They get into a fight because Whitney "helped" Roxanne's rival (Kathy Griffin's Boss). Roxanne does the print version of the magazine. KGB does the online version. They're rivals. Roxanne wants Whitney to spy on KGB.
She does. Or tries to. He's at a loss because he was going to do a feature for Valentine's Day using old photos of couples. He's got nothing.
Whitney looks over them making comments like, "Is that guy kissing her or blowing her up?"
KGB laughs and laughs.
The next day, he's thrilled because he put Whitney's captions and the photos online and they're the biggest hit the magazine's had.
In what world is Whitney not then offered a job other than assistant?
Add in that she's a photographer and you're left to wonder why Roxanne didn't hire her as a photographer for the magazine -- either on staff or freelance?
I just am not keen on the whole thing especially not when Whitney's work is hugely popular and it doesn't result in any real benefit for her.
