Thursday nights mean, for me, "Turn on NBC!!!!" And for one show: Whitney. That is my favorite show on TV. I just love that show. Cedric likes it too (so does Wally -- when I pick up the phone on Friday mornings while Cedric's in the shower and Wally's on the phone, we'll trade favorite lines from the night before's episode). But we Tivo it.
When we just watched it as it aired, Cedric would complain afterwards that I laughed so loud and so often he missed some of the jokes. So now we watch it twice on Thursdays. And I guess we'll do that next year when it moves to Wednesdays -- watch it twice on Thursdays. Wednesday is a church night for us.
But I'm expecting the show to suck real soon.
That's because each episode has been better and better and better and better. And they weren't bad to start with. So how long can you climb straight up a mountain?
I don't know but last night was perfect. Everything was perfect. It was the funniest episode. Not just funniest of Whitney but funniest of the fall season of anyone. I like Happy Endings on ABC (I watch it on Hulu due to church night) and Modern Family can make me laugh and, of course, Sue on The Middle as well. And I will catch The Office online. I can't stomach Community, sorry. And Parks & Recreation is good (especially Rashida and Amy and whenever Karen from Will & Grace is on as "Tammy 2" -- she was on last night). And I try to catch 2 Broke Girls because that's really funny too.
But of all of that, the funniest episode, absolute funniest episode of the fall season was last night's episode of Whitney.
She freaked out because Lily wants kids and Roxanne wants kids. She was sleep walking, she had to see her therapist. She dragged Alex along with her twice. The second time, she talked about how they never talked about children and Alex said that was because he thought she didn't want any (she didn't at that point) and that would be a "deal breaker" in the relationship for him.
Her therapist was played by Chelsea Handler. She and Whitney Cummings were very funny together.
