Today The New York Times report said "The attack in Benghazi, Libya, that killed Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other Americans has dealt the Central Intelligence Agency a major setback in its intelligence-gathering efforts at a time of increasing instability in the North African nation : “It’s a catastrophic intelligence loss,” said one American official who has served in Libya and who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the F.B.I. is still investigating the attack. “We got our eyes poked out.”
Blaming the CIA is not a substitute for Obama's failure and leadership. Obama is busy, has no time for intelligence briefings . But he has time for Letterman, he has time to appear with the ''Pimp with a Limp'', He has time for a long discussion with a guy dressed like a pirate.
Meanwhile, this massive security and intelligence failure remains unsolved and mostly unexcused. This tragic, senseless loss of life could and should have been avoided.
I would agree with that. I would agree that he's wasted time and acted as though he had a new movie to promote and not as if he were the president of the United States.
I would also agree with the New York Daily News' Derek Hunter here:
If this election were on his record, Obama would have to explain why the nation’s GDP was revised down again, for a second time, to an anemic 1.3% for the last quarter from a pathetic 1.7%. We’ve lost nearly 30% of the GDP growth in the first quarter of this year, a paltry 2%, so we’re not only heading in the wrong direction, we’re going that way fast.
Considering the numbers for durable goods orders “fell by the most since the recession” in August and you get a clear picture of an economy that is “depressingly weak.”
But liberals aren’t talking about President Obama’s record. They don’t want to talk about his failures on jobs and the economy.
They also don’t want to mention how his administration, and he personally, lied to the America people for more than two weeks about the terrorist attacks in Libya that killed Ambassador Christopher Stevens. They didn’t want there to be a terrorist attack on Americans in a country Obama wanted to praise as a feather in his cap for “liberating.”
And I even agree with this part of an editorial at the Chicago Tribune, "But they're right on one point: The White House owes Americans a full accounting of what happened and who was responsible. White House officials need to be forthcoming about what they know and what is still to be determined."
I think about this and how, each week, the show Seth Meyers is the headwriter of (Saturday Night Live) attacks Romney and glorifies Barack. And I think if SNL is going to do that then all the candidates deserve 90 minutes of network time each week. And it's been 120 minutes lately due to the 30 minute Weekend Update on Thursdays. I'd like to see my candidate, Jill Stein, get on shows too. Put her on Glee so the kids can be exposed to a real candidate for president. Let them find out that there are candidates who don't believe war is the answer and candidates who don't believe you pledge allegiance to Wall Street, that there are candidates who believe in you, the American citizen, and believe that you have a right to be safe and fed. That means jobs, that means health care, that means so much.
Glee's only a one hour show so Jill would still be owed a weekly hour of TV. But if they did it for just three weeks, I swear I'd let that other weekly hour slide and never complain.
And if she got that kind of exposure, you better believe she'd get at least 30% of the vote if not more.
This is C.I's "Iraq snapshot:"
